We were excited to give the pupils at Cornist Park the opportunity to participate in the Safer Internet Day app competition which was organised by Welsh Government and SWGfL. It was a great way for the pupils to share their eSafety knowledge in a creative way. The competition enhanced the development of pupils’ teamwork, problem solving and digital competency skills and we are extremely proud that Lilli and Georgia’s hard work has been recognised by winning the competition!
“We are incredibly excited for Safer Internet Day because our app will be launched and whoever downloads it will learn even more about their online safety. Also, on the day people will find out about how we decided to share information throughout our app and design it” Lilli and Georgia.
We had a lovely morning at The Days Inn Hotel were we celebrated Safer Internet Day with all our Year5/6 pupils, Cornist staff, our eSafety Governor, Welsh Government, SWGfL, council officials and other local schools. As part of Lilli and Georgia’s prize Welsh Government and SWGfL developed their app and then released it onto the Google Play store. You can find the app available in English and Welsh on the Google Play Store. More information about the competition can be viewed here
